Daisy Days Fabric by Keera Job
I was so excited when I heard that Keera Job would be releasing her first ever fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs, and even more excited when Keera asked if I would like to preview the collection and make something for her promotional blog tour.
Having a soft spot for daisies, I only had to hear what Keera had named her collection and I knew I would be drawn to it. Daisy Days is a collection of bright, youthful and fun prints that remind me of summer. There is something a little nostalgic about it, yet the interpretation is entirely modern!
The Story Behind the Quilt
When I began to design a pattern for Keera’s new collection I wanted my inspiration to come from the fabric itself.
I have thought for a while now I would like to make a little daisy inspired quilt as a tribute to our beloved family dog, Daisy, who we sadly said goodbye to last year. I sketched, and sketched, but nothing seemed to resonate with me. The timing was obviously not right, but I was still keen to find the right ‘daisy’ connection.
Daisies, I realised, are a regular part of my day in the form of a cup of camomile tea. Each day, I begin and end the day with this simple pleasure. It has become somewhat of a ritual.
A few years ago, if you had offered me a cup of camomile tea I would have most assuredly passed on it – it never seemed to taste quite right to me. But since then I have learnt that there is an art to making the best brew, and done right, the flavour is both rich and calming.
Each morning and evening I take a few moments out of my day to sit alone, with my cup of tea in hand, and contemplate the day. It’s in those quiet moments that I make sense of all that is going on around me.
Once I had the source of my inspiration, I set about designing a block that would somehow represent the hours in the day, both the morning and the evening, and how these quiet moments in our day help us connect to our own big picture.
I couldn’t be happier with the final quilt design, and I love how the Daisy Days fabric looks in the finished quilt.

Fabric Is My Fun
I had a lot of fun creating with this fabric collection.
The Quiet Moments pattern I have designed (coming soon) calls for F8 pieces. Since the lovely people at Millhouse fabrics sent me a FQ bundle to play with, I have some leftover (not quite the complete collection, but almost), and I thought it would be nice to pass this fabric on to one of you.
If you would like to be in the running for a chance to win, follow me on Pinterest and comment here with what you would love to make with this bundle. I will randomly choose a person to send it to next week. GIVEAWAY NOW ENDED
